In an exclusive interview with NDTV, Vikram Akula, founder of SKS Microfinance, talks about the challenges being faced by SKS Microfinance and the microfinance sector as a whole because of MFI Act enacted by the Andhra Pradesh Government.

Vikram Akula says that Andhra Pradesh continues to be a challenge for the company and he expect that over time, the issues facing the sector will get resolved.

True, people would indeed like the status quo maintained when SKS and other MFIs, as an NGO were really catering to the financial needs of the poor. And, the community too were stakeholders/shareholders in the organisation. Unfortunately, we fool people could not understand your hidden agenda of minting money out of the poor people. Return the money which you have made on the name of the poor and Sitaram Rao and then come back, you scoundrel.
