Mary Meeker & Liang Wu of the Private Equity firm Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers have released a report on Internet trends around the globe for 2012 & 2013. The Report reveals that the majority of the growth over the past few years has come from China and India. The detailed presentation report extends for over 112 pages and was presented last week at the D10 Conference.

Some trends about India from the Report
- 663 Million Internet users were added last year, out of which 384 million are from China and India alone. India was able to add 69 million internet users between 2008 to 2011.
- India currently has a base of 121 Million internet users, which places it’s penetration at 10%.
- India witnessed the highest growth in 3G penetration in percentage terms at 841%.
- There is convergence of Mobile and Desktop traffic and for the first time Mobile Internet traffic in India has overtaken Desktop Internet traffic.
