India Fellowship 2014
In late 2008 iVolunteer actively started pursuing the idea of creating a full time social leadership program. iVolunteer wanted to create a program on the lines of Americorps and City year. In 2009 together with ICICI Bank Social Initiatives Group ( Now ICICI Foundation) iVolunteer created ICICI Fellows- a leadership program for young Indians that exposes them to the social sector issues in India . Over the next three years iVolunteer received thousands of applications for the ICICI Fellows program. In the following years iVolunteer engaged with many ICICI Fellows through selection, training, placement and leadership retreats.
After ICICI Fellows program came to an end the fellowship team at iVolunteer, alumni of ICICI Fellows and our advisors unanimously recommended that we start India Fellow program.
India Fellow builds on the experience and learning of iVolunteer in the ICICI Fellows program. The overall goals and objective of the program remain the same however the format has changed based on our learning.
