A guide for all seasons: Learn how to plant, nurture and harvest your inclusive agribusiness!
With the global population set to rise by 3 billion people by 2050, experts project that food production will need to increase about 50% by 2030 to meet demand. Industrialized countries face serious limitations in increasing land size and productivity, meaning that most growth will need to come from developing countries, where smallholders cultivate most of the land.
“Growing Business with Smallholders: A Guide to Inclusive Agribusiness” shows agribusiness and food companies how to sell to and source from smallholders. The report points out widespread challenges, highlights solutions, and shows how they can be implemented through cooperation on different levels.
The “Guide for All Seasons” framework guides companies through critical questions that arise at each phase, or ‘season’, of a business model in order to design and develop their own inclusive agribusiness.
