This is a five-day course taught by Professor Kasturi Rangan of Harvard Business School which addresses how social enterprise can empower people, enhance livelihoods and create jobs.
The 2012 course will take place from September 24-28 in Limuru, Kenya (30 mins from Nairobi). It will combine classroom teaching with field visits to see the work of both Hand in Hand and Jamii Bora, and expert Q&As with leading social entrepreneurs such as Christie Peacock of Sidai / Farm Africa.
The cost of the course is US$ 2,000 for all teaching and accommodation – less than a third of the cost of the equivalent course at Harvard Business School.
The first course was held in Chennai,India last year. It was a great success, with participants including founders, CEOs and senior managers from NGOs, MFIs, donors etc. A number of social entrepreneurs and social investors also came along.
