Grameen Foundation India (GFI), a wholly owned subsidiary of Grameen Foundation USA recently participated as a Resource Partner in the workshop titled “ Building an Effective Human Resource Strategy for Social Enterprises ” organised by Intellecap on September 07,2012 in Bangalore.
The objectives of the workshop included:
- To develop a broad level understanding of HR processes and strategies for social enterprises.
- Identify key challenges related to HR that social enterprises face and help find solutions to them.
- Provide an opportunity for peer learning and experience sharing.
The interactive full day workshop provided an overview on HR processes and was tailored to answer specific challenges that entrepreneurs and social enterprises face.
GFI led the “Introduction to Strategic Human Capital Management” session where Peg Ross and Faisal Wahedi of the Grameen Foundation Human Capital Centre presented the fundamental building blocks of a strong and strategic human capital management function at a social enterprise. In addition to this, GFI was also a part of the panel discussion on “Understanding the HR challenges in the Indian Social Enterprise sector”.
The workshop got an overwhelmingly positive feedback on the content, delivery and structure from the participants. In their feedback, the participants highlighted specific inputs received at the workshop that they could apply to their organizational HR structure and strategy.
