London Tech Week was organised between 12-16th June 2017 across multiple venues in the United Kingdom. The aim of the week long festival was to showcase London’s tech credentials to the world. The city currently ranks among the top five startup hubs in the world. Entrepreneurs and tech professionals from Europe and Asia marked their presence at the event in large numbers.
A total of 300 events were held at different spots across London and its surroundings. A large number of the events organized at the tech week were free to attend. Some however had tickets priced in the range of £ 30 to £ 700. The workshops had limited seats which meant a lot of the participants could not register at the last minute.
A lot of the events were also held laterally which meant nobody could manage to attend all the events. Another grouse frequently encountered was that the event locations were in far flung places which made it difficult for visitors to attend multiple venues which had events clashing on the same day. You can check the complete list of events held this year at the link below:
The entire tech week saw participation from 40,000 individuals making it one of the world’s largest tech events. The theme of the talks and workshops revolved around Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality, Internet Of Things, 5G Networks, Artificial Intelligence, Bots, Machine Learning, Education Technology, Mobile Apps, Connected Cars, Autonomous Vehicles, FinTech, Energy and Drones.
A concert by world renowned musician Hans Zimmer was one of the headline events of the conference. Mr Zimmer also spoke at the Tech XLR8 conference and had an interactive session with audience members.
